Hey guys! The day has come V2 Preview is upon us.

Before you get all super excited and stuff.

Read some text:

1. This is a beta. As such, comments, bug reports, etc etc are welcome. Make sure to keep them in the V2 sub-forum.
2. There are no new betting features in the preview. New features like props, etc are coming soon, but only when the preview is no longer … a preview
3. Yes, I realize the logo is completely and totally utter crap. A good, new one is coming soon.
4. More stuff coming here whenever I think of it

0. FULL CODE REWRITE! So if somethings broken, it’s probably my fault.

What’s Coming?

Man, lots of stuff. Seriously. Yes, I know we don’t have props yet and that’s what everyone wants, but it is on the road-map for pretty soon.

What’s missing in the Preview?

Well, this is a preview only intended for existing users. As such, there’s no About Us, FAQ, email address change, crony invite page, registration page, top lists, and other misc crap. These are coming very soon. You guys know where it is in V1, feel free to go back to V1 if you need access to any of those things. No worries though, They’re coming soon.

Why no IE support?

Well, since it’s just a beta preview, I’ve taken the liberty to turn off IE support to save me time and effort. Internet Explorer is the worst browser ever to be created. It’s insecure and lacks standard compliance. This means people like me who spend one hour creating a page have to spend another two hours trying to make it work in IE6, 7, and 8, when it should work in FireFox an Safari out of the box. However, I acknowledge that a large chunk of our users are on IE. That’s why support for it is coming soon. In the meantime, just use FireFox or Safari (and for the love of everything good, don’t go back!)

So…. have at it: Centsports V2 Preview

Centsports has now reached it’s 500,000 account opened, it happened around a week ago and the site is now on its way to a million accounts though that could take awhile. It’s taken approximately 20 months to reach this amazing figure.

Who would have thought that Centsports would reach this figure when Victor started the site in 2007, though when you combine sports and the possibility to win free money you have a winning combination that a great deal of people will be attracted to.

Will we see the millionth account this time next year, we will just have to wait and see and continue have fun on the site and with the forum contests.

I was just taking a look at a few accounts and noticed some nice big bets being placed by some large balance members.

Though remember they can occasionally turn into a big loss.

Not surprisingly this years Superbowl was the most popular bet game so far in Centsports history with 59,003 bets being placed, it may have reached 60,000 without the problem earlier in the day. We can see how the site has grown over the last year as the New York Giants/New England Patriots Superbowl had 4194 bets.

Hello.
As many of you have noticed, things are changing around here.
Victor is stepping down as leader of CentSports so he can focus on promoting and building up new Cent-Network websites. We wish him luck and success.

The great news: He left me in charge. What does that mean? Well, without getting into the nitty gritty details:

• Version 2.0 is now top priority again! I’ll be finding and hiring a new designer soon, so we can move on and get this new thing up
• Customer service and Community Relations are key! The biggest thing I learned from watching grow is that our users come first. And to prove that I really mean that, I’ve gone out and convinced all of our fine Admins that left to come and rejoin us.
• Communication! The Achilles heal of CS Administration. I’ll be working very hard to make sure all of our new and returning Admins are on the same page at the same time.
• Increasing Cashouts! Lets face it - the current cashout level keeps growing, and that’s pushing people away. We’re going to be trying our best to get more money to our winners as soon as we can.

Basically, I want CentSports to be happening again, and I want all of you to be happy. Our concern was that CentSports was starting to stagnate, and the admins and myself have put too many hours into this ship to just watch it sink.

I actually noticed yesterday that Puttzy was no longer Admin, I guess he finally decided to take a break after all the hassles, problems and complaints he and the other Admins had to deal with over the last few weeks.

It’s a shame as he was a great help to Centsports, with himself and hockeybets being so active on the forum there was usually at least one of them around to help and answer questions. We will have one less Admin to help cure those problems that pop up from time to time and need a quick fix.

Plus his GreaseMonkey scripts were great and use a couple that made the site a lot easier to navigate. Hopefully he isn’t gone permanently as his post were always a good read whether you agreed with him or not.

Did you get the chance to sign up for the Yoonew $25 offer. If you blinked you probably would have missed this great offer, within the hours it was placed on the home page till they temporarily closed the offer at around midnight 970 members had signed up. Now that is what I call great activity from Centsports members. I’m sure the remaining 30 spaces left on the offer that was again available from 4 pm yesterday were snapped up very quick.

I was fortunate to get on in this offer though still yet to do anything with my funds at the moment, i’m sure I will be finding something worthwhile very soon.

Today we got to see the third masterpiece from the Centsports team.

I have altered the site sport scoreboard to the new one that can be seen below. It can been viewed anytime by clicking the Sports Scoreboards on the page list that is situated on the right hand side.

Just select the down arrow button at the top left of the widget to switch between sports scoreboards. The Scoreboard Widget displays scores for the following sports: NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAAF, NCAAB and WNBA. The page is set to refresh every minute so keep scores updated.

My apologies about the lack of site updates/post recently but I am now back and will try to get us back on track with our centsports news.
