Goal is to have the most points at the end of the bowl games.
Anyone who has a CS forum account may enter.

Rules:
1. Only 1 entry allowed. (multiple forum accounts will be checked) If caught using multiple forum accounts to enter you will be disqualified from challenge.
2. All picks must be submitted in p.m. to xXMoNeYXx before start of first game.
3. DO NOT POST PICKS IN THREAD.
4. If by chance you are banned from the forum you are also banned from the challenge.
5. No late picks will be accepted after the start of a game.NO exceptions.
6. Don’t cheat .
7. In case of a tie, a tiebreaker question will be held on last bowl game.
8. Once your picks are sent they are locked in. NO CHANGING PICKS!

Prize:
1st Place= $10
2nd Place= $5
3rd Place= $2.50

Rules can be changed or added at anytime.
If by chance the winner is disqualified by any means the prize will go to the next highest contestant.
If at anytime I can’t accept picks or post games i will have someone responsible enough to post or accept.
I will try and post everything the night before.
We do have the right to close this challenge at anytime.

Centsports has now reached account 600,000 opened, it happened in the last week or so.

Who would have thought that Centsports would reach this figure when Victor started the site in 2007, though when you combine sports and the possibility to win free money you have a winning combination that a great deal of people will be attracted to.

Only time can tell if we will see the millionth account this time next year, we will just have to wait and see and continue have fun on the site and with the forum contests.

For those people that have been using V2 you may or may not have noticed some new options at the bottom of your “my account” page.

If you wish you now have the chance to limit the people that can view your profile page. It can be left open for Everyone to view or you can limit it to just Registered Users or even just your Centsports Friends.

Also for those that like to compete with their friends to see who is the better bettor now have the option to hide your pending bets so they can’t be copied. Like the profile options you have the choice of Everyone, Registered User, Friends or you can limit it to just you seeing your pending bets.

Finally you can also limit who can comment on your bets so you can stop the spam and trash talk on your bets. Again limit it to Registered Users, Friends or just you be able to comment.

These options will come into full effect when the final switch is made to V2, currently the options only work for those that use V2. Those still using V1 wont be limited with the new options so they can still see your bets, profile and make comments.

Iphone/Palm Pre App Forum Thread

We are beginning the development of the CentSports application for the iPhone and Palm Pre as well as other mobile platforms. As with almost everything with the site we would love to hear what you personally would want to see in the application or any comments that you may have. I will ask that all comments pertain to the application and not to each others comments and that every response is constructive.

Here are some basic questions to be thinking about:

1) How long do you want to spend on this application? (i.e. how long to place a wager, how long to check your friends balances, etc.)

2) What features would you like to see in the application that are not currently present in the current version of the site?

3) How often would you guess that you would use this platform instead of the site itself? (In either a percentage or a number of wagers per week)

4) Do you own a smart phone or a phone with internet capability?

I am sure that there will be other questions that will follow, but this is a general overview and is not intended to be inclusive. If you have anything further to add then feel free to.

Once again, please keep all content in this thread related to the application and neither I nor anyone’s comments about the application. Also, please do not ask about an ETA as it is not currently known and does not want to be speculated upon!

Iphone/Palm Pre App Forum Thread

The new NFL season is upon us so it’s time to get those bets on and the winnings rolling in. We have a great game to kick the season off tonight with Superbowl Champions Pittsburgh Steelers playing the Tennessee Titans.

It will be interesting to see how many will bet on the season opener, with V2 showing everyone how many bets have been placed we will be able to see. Above is the current bets placed 6 hours before kick-off.

What’s Coming?

Man, lots of stuff. Seriously. Yes, I know we don’t have props yet and that’s what everyone wants, but it is on the road-map for pretty soon.

What’s missing in the Preview?

Well, this is a preview only intended for existing users. As such, there’s no About Us, FAQ, email address change, crony invite page, registration page, top lists, and other misc crap. These are coming very soon. You guys know where it is in V1, feel free to go back to V1 if you need access to any of those things. No worries though, They’re coming soon.

Why no IE support?

Well, since it’s just a beta preview, I’ve taken the liberty to turn off IE support to save me time and effort. Internet Explorer is the worst browser ever to be created. It’s insecure and lacks standard compliance. This means people like me who spend one hour creating a page have to spend another two hours trying to make it work in IE6, 7, and 8, when it should work in FireFox an Safari out of the box. However, I acknowledge that a large chunk of our users are on IE. That’s why support for it is coming soon. In the meantime, just use FireFox or Safari (and for the love of everything good, don’t go back!)

Wimbledon is over for another year and we had another great Men’s Final, I doubt many could predict that we would see such a long match with the dominance Federer had been showing through the tournament. I’m sure we had some members with big bets on Federer who were sitting on the edge of there seats thinking they may lose whilst we had those taking Roddick who was the underdog cheering him on for the win. Though with the 30 game final set we saw Roger Federer break the record and win his 15th Grand Slam.

Meanwhile in the Ladies Final Serena Williams ended her sister’s recent dominance at Wimbledon with a straight-sets victory over Venus that gave her a third Wimbledon title. This was the fourth time the Williams sisters had met in a Wimbledon final and Serena has now won 11 Grand Slam titles and holds the Wimbledon, Australian and US Open crowns.
